Gutter Color Options Guide for Southern Utah Homes

Pick a gutter color that complements your stucco, stone, or modern farmhouse exterior — from classic white to on-trend black and bronze.

Gutter color is one of the easiest ways to change your home's curb appeal — and one of the hardest to change later. Because we install baked-on factory finishes on our seamless aluminum gutters, the color you pick now will look the same in ten years. This guide walks through the most popular gutter colors for St. George, Hurricane, Ivins, and the rest of Washington County so you can choose with confidence.

Not sure what will look right on your home? We bring color samples to every free estimate and can hold them against your fascia, stucco, and roofline before you commit. On the older brick and stucco homes in the historic part of Santa Clara, getting that match right matters more than it does on a new build. And if you're still deciding on capacity, our 5-inch vs 6-inch gutter guide covers the sizing half of the decision.

    Popular Gutter Colors We Install

    White

Best for: White stucco, light adobe, and traditional Southern Utah homes

The most popular choice in Washington County. Blends into fascia and trim so gutters visually disappear.

    Almond / Sandstone

Best for: Tan stucco, sandstone accents, desert-tone exteriors

Mimics St. George's signature red-rock and sandstone palette. Hides dust between cleanings.

    Bronze

Best for: Earth-tone stucco, stone veneer, Tuscan and Mediterranean styles

A warm, upscale look that complements copper light fixtures and wood accents without the copper price tag.

    Brown

Best for: Brown fascia, brick, and darker wood trim

Classic, low-maintenance choice that ties into brown roofing and shutters.

    Black

Best for: White houses, modern farmhouses, black-window trim

The current design trend — black gutters on a white house create a crisp, high-contrast farmhouse look.

    Charcoal Gray

Best for: Gray stucco, modern contemporary homes, dark roofing

A softer alternative to pure black that still delivers a modern, architectural feel.

Custom colors are available on request — bring a paint chip or photo and we'll match it.

Matching Gutter Colors to Your Exterior

A quick reference for the exteriors we see most often across Southern Utah.

    White house or white stucco

    Recommended: Black or bronze

High contrast gutters and downspouts frame the roofline and are the defining feature of the modern farmhouse look.

Tan or beige stucco (most common in St. George)

    Recommended: Almond, sandstone, or bronze

Blends with desert tones so gutters recede visually and dust buildup is far less noticeable.

    Gray stucco or contemporary

    Recommended: Charcoal or black

Continues the monochrome palette that modern Southern Utah builds are moving toward.

    Brown, brick, or Tuscan exterior

    Recommended: Brown or bronze

Warm tones tie into brick, stone veneer, and wood-look garage doors common in Bloomington and Washington Fields.

    Red-rock or sandstone accents

    Recommended: Sandstone, bronze, or brown

Echoes the natural rock palette of Snow Canyon and Ivins without competing with it.

Black Gutters on a White House: Should You Do It?

Black gutters on a white house are the defining detail of the modern farmhouse trend — and they look fantastic on the newer builds in Washington Fields, Little Valley, and Desert Color. Paired with black window frames and a standing-seam or dark asphalt roof, they turn the gutter line into an architectural feature instead of hiding it.

A few things to know before you commit:

    • Black finishes get noticeably hotter in the Southern Utah sun — not a functional issue for aluminum, but worth knowing if you have exposed downspouts near seating areas.
    • Dust from summer haboobs shows less on black than on white, but water spotting after monsoons can be more visible.
    • Black looks best when it's carried through to downspouts, fascia trim, and end caps. Mixing black gutters with white downspouts usually looks unfinished.

What Makes Color Selection Different in Southern Utah

    Intense UV Exposure

Our high-desert sun fades cheap paint quickly. We use baked-on aluminum finishes rated for 20+ years so the color you pick stays true.

    Stucco-Heavy Neighborhoods

Most Washington County homes are stucco in warm neutral tones. Sandstone, almond, and bronze blend in cleanly; white or black create intentional contrast.

    Monsoon Water Marks

Mid-tone colors like bronze and sandstone hide dust and mineral streaks from summer storms better than very light or very dark finishes.
